BAM Clough awarded significant Port Hedland Wharf contract

Fortescue Metals Group (FMG) has awarded the BAM Clough Joint Venture (BAM Clough) a design and construction contract for a fifth iron ore loading berth at its Anderson Point Facility (AP5) in Port Hedland, Western Australia.

The works include the design and construction of a 306-metre long wharf extension, seven berthing dolphins, and the supply and installation of wharf conveyor modules.

Project engineering has commenced with procurement and planning work scheduled to commence in February. Construction activities are scheduled to commence in May 2014 with project completion anticipated in early 2015.
