GREEN CREATIVE’S new 6-inch and 4-inch High CRI Downlights

GREEN CREATIVE announced the launch of its brand new TITANIUM LED CRISP SERIES 3.0 6" and 4" High CRI downlights. Both lamps comply with the California Quality Specification set forth by the California Energy Commission. In addition to these downlights, GREEN CREATIVE offers an A19 and BR30 that also meet the California Quality Specification requirements. Last year, the California Energy Commission (CEC) issued the Voluntary California Quality Light-Emitting Diode (LED) Lamp Specification for LED lamps used in residential applications. This new specification, commonly referred to as "CEC" or "California Quality Spec," has set an LED lamp performance baseline for utilities to consider that is more stringent than ENERGY STAR. Some large California Investor Owned Utilities such as PG&E, SCE, and SDG&E have already adopted this specification and currently offer higher-tier rebates for lamps that meet the requirements.

Two notable differences between ENERGY STAR requirements and the California Quality Spec deal with color rendering and color temperature consistency. While ENERGY STAR requires LED lamps to have a CRI ≥80 and R9 ≥0, the California Quality Spec demands a CRI ≥90 and R9 ≥50. As members of GREEN CREATIVE'S CRISP SERIES, the new 6" Downlight 16W and 4" Downlight 12W retrofit kits provide exceptional color rendering with typical CRI 92 and R9 60 values. These dimmable fixtures make individual colors look crisper and cleaner than typical CRI 80 LED lamps and are ideal for applications that demand accurate color rendering such as retail, food, museums, and art galleries.

In addition to a higher CRI, the California Quality Spec also requires a tighter chromaticity than ENERGY STAR. A lamp's color temperature now must fall within a 4-step Macadam ellipse from the 2700K or 3000K points. This is stricter than ENERGY STAR's 7-step requirement. A 4-step Macadam ellipse minimizes lamp to lamp color deviation, creates truer 2700K and 3000K CCTs, and ensures retrofit projects involving a large number of lamps have a consistent color temperature. Both the new 6" and 4" downlights meet the CEC's 4-step requirement and deliver comfortable diffused light in Warm White CCTs.

Both the 6" and 4" LED downlights install in just minutes and are compatible with both existing incandescent housing and new LED housing. The dimmable 6" Downlight 16W replaces a 75W incandescent, has a 35,000-hour lifetime, comes in 2700K and 3000K CCT and is pending ENERGY STAR qualification.

The dimmable 4" Downlight 12W replaces a 65W incandescent, has a 35,000-hour lifetime, comes in 2700K CCT and is pending ENERGY STAR qualification.
