| Züblin building office complex for € 95 million at Stuttgart Airport Ed. Züblin AG of Stuttgart, a subsidiary of the publicly listed European construction group Strabag SE, has begun with the turnkey construction of New Office Airport Stuttgart on behalf of client Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH. The contract value of the office ensemble, which is being built under a partnership arrangement with a guaranteed maximum price and upon completion will be leased almost entirely to management consulting firm Ernst & Young as its Germany headquarters, stands at about € 95 million. The design by Berlin-based architectural firm HASCHER JEHLE features three rounded interlocking structures of different heights with a total gross floor area of about 58,000 m² to be built on the 17,750 m² site of the former P10 parking garage on Flughafenstraße. The New Office Airport Stuttgart building complex will become a highly visible gateway for the future Airport City being planned in the north-western part of the airport grounds. The two main structures, with six and seven aboveground floors, respectively, together form the curved contour of a reclining figure eight. The structures will be connected via a central access building and will house, among other things, office space and seminar rooms, a library, the building administration, IT services and social areas. Connected to this building complex is a third structure with four aboveground floors that comprises conference rooms and an auditorium as well as a lunchroom and a café-bistro with rooftop terrace. A two-storey underground car park with about 380 parking spaces, as well as planted central courtyards and exterior facilities with an impressively designed forecourt, will complete the building ensemble and are also included in the contract value. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Construction News :: home page |
