| Mott MacDonald to improve water management in Lakes State, South Sudan An international consortium led by Mott MacDonald and including VNG International and SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, has been appointed by the Dutch government to implement the Water for Lakes Programme, designed to contribute to national security and reduce the dependency on food aid, in the Lakes State, South Sudan. The consortium will provide technical assistance to the Government of South Sudan for the development of an integrated water management system. It includes improvement of physical infrastructure and strengthening of institutions responsible for the water governance and infrastructure operation. This will seek to improve access to clean drinking water for 800,000 people, while increasing water resources for livestock, agriculture and fisheries. At the same time, a €31.8 million portfolio for investment projects will be formulated to stimulate economic development in the region and improve living conditions in a sustainable way.
