| Leighton /John Holland awarded contract in Singapore Leighton Asia, India and Offshore (LAIO), in a joint venture with John Holland Pty Limited, has been awarded a contract worth A$329 million from the Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) for the Thomson Line project. This is the second civil engineering project to be awarded to Leighton-John Holland joint venture by LTA, following the award of an A$130 million contract in 2011 for the construction of the Downtown Line Stage 3 – Jalan Besar Station. The contract requires the joint venture to construct the Springleaf station and 2 kilometres of twin - bored tunnel as part of the 30 kilometre Thomson line railway consisting of 22 stations and 6 interchange stations. When completed, the Thomson Line will provide greater accessibility, significantly reducing travel time for commuters.
