Skanska to renovate Klara C at the central station in Stockholm

Skanska has signed a contract with Vasakronan on renovation and modernizing of the property Klara C, opposite to the central station in Stockholm, Sweden. The contract value is about SEK 800 M, which will be included in order bookings for Skanska Sweden for the fourth quarter 2013.

The property, with 12 stories and a gross area of 48, 000 square meters, has a great culture-historical importance and will be fully renovated and modernized. Construction start is scheduled for March 1, 2014. When work is done at the end of 2016 the building will contain offices, conference premises, restaurants and shops. The property will match high demands for sustainability, with the purpose that the renovation will be LEED-certified on the highest level, Platinum.

Skanska Sweden is one of Sweden's largest construction companies, with operations in building and civil-engineering construction. The business unit has approximately 11,000 employees and revenue in 2012 amounted to approximately SEK 30 billion. In Sweden, Skanska is also active in the development of residential construction and commercial premises.
