| BAM builds superstructure for new US Embassy building in Jakarta BAM International, the operating company of Royal BAM Group active outside of Europe, has been awarded a US$ 28.5 million contract for the demolition of the existing US-embassy building in Jakarta, including the earth and piling works and the superstructure for the new Embassy building. BAM acts as a subcontractor to BL Harbert International of Birmingham, Alabama, who won the design and build contract of the new US Embassy from the US Department of State - Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations. BAM has started on site and will complete its scope of work by the second quarter of 2015. New diplomatic facilities totalling 47,000 square meters will be constructed on the existing embassy complex. The embassy is located in the historic centre of Jakarta, surrounded by national government offices. When completed, the office complex will provide state-of-the-art workspace for approximately 1,300 embassy employees. The new complex will include a 10-story tower for consular and office space, with an attached residence for Marine security guards, as well as a multi-story car park. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Construction News :: home page |
