Impregilo to acquire 10% stake in high-speed Milan-Genoa project

Salini S.p.A. and Impregilo S.p.A. announce that on 19 September 2013, Impregilo signed an agreement with Tecnimont S.p.A., a subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont S.p.A., to acquire a further 10% stake in the COCIV Consortium, the general contractor for the construction of the Terzo Valico Ferroviario dei Giovi project (Milan-Genoa high-capacity, high-speed railway line), for a price of around €25 million.

Given the perfection of this transaction, the Salini Group holds a total stake of 64% in the COCIV Consortium, whose contracted works for the construction of the Terzo Valico project amount to around €4.6 billion.

By increasing its stake in one of the most significant and strategic infrastructure projects under way in Italy, the Salini Impregilo Group consolidates its leadership in the construction of complex works and strengthens its role in the Italian high-speed/high-capacity system, which has already seen the Group involved in the construction of the Bologna-Florence and Turin-Milan lines currently in operation.
