| Fluor begins construction on Dominion’s Brunswick County power station ![]() Fluor began providing engineering and procurement services on the plant from its Charlotte, North Carolina office last year while Dominion awaited regulatory approvals to begin construction. The project is expected to staff approximately 600 craft workers at peak during the construction phase. On August 2, 2013, Dominion received approval from the Virginia State Corporation Commission to move forward with construction. The new combined cycle, natural gas-fired power station will meet increased customer demand and replace electricity from older coal-fired generating units that are being retired.
