| Fluor wins basic engineering services contract in South Africa Fluor Corporation was awarded a contract by Sasol Technology (Pty.) Ltd. to perform basic engineering services associated with the Natref Clean Fuels 2 Project in Sasolburg, South Africa. Natref, the only inland crude refinery in South Africa, is a joint venture between Sasol and Total. The undisclosed contract value will be booked in Fluor's second quarter of 2013. This award follows the successful completion of a feasibility study and conceptual engineering by Fluor. The purpose of the project is to develop, design and build new process units on the Natref site in Sasolburg to meet the legislated fuel specifications as promulgated by the South Africa government. In addition, some extensive modifications of existing units will be evaluated and considered. One of the key components of the basic engineering phase is to perform detailed up-front planning and to develop a viable and cost-effective project execution strategy to safely drive the efficient delivery of the project within the approved budget, schedule and specification. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Construction News :: home page |
