| Wisconsin Energy Institute prepares for opening weekend The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Wisconsin Energy Institute will open Friday, April 5. The public is invited to two days of opening events, including an energy career fair, energy research symposium and family-friendly activities on Saturday, April 6. "In design, execution and location, WEI officials say, the facility represents the research it houses: sustainable and collaborative, " a university release stated. The HOK-designed institute will bring together researchers from multiple disciplines to develop innovative solutions for replacing fossil fuels with sustainable alternatives. The design consumes 30 percent less energy than a typical lab building and is targeted to achieve LEED Gold certification. write your comments about the article :: © 2013 Construction News :: home page |
