But that's no reason to overlook the show's extensive supporting program, which promises a whole host of highlights. The bauma Forum in Hall C2 features Country and Theme Specials, an Indonesia Day and presentations by the exhibitors. Country specials The "Country Specials" at bauma are evidence of the broad international character of this show. The series kicks off on the first day with the "Country Special on Sub-Saharan Africa: Investment opportunities, current development of the market and projects in the construction and mining industry". Among the speakers expected to take part in this forum is Jim Rankin from the Construction and Mining Equipment Suppliers' Association, CONMESA. This association is the supporter of the first bauma Africa, taking place in September 2013. In cooperation with the German Engineering Federation, the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau), Messe München International is organizing country specials on India ("Business potentials in India – Challenges and Opportunities") and Latin America ("Current market developments, projects") on Tuesday, April 16, and on Mongolia, on Thursday, April 18. Messe München's partners for the country special on the Philippines ("The rising sun of Asia") on Friday, April 19, are the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA) and the Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors Inc. (ACEL). In the specials on Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and Mongolia, there will also be a focus on "intelligent urbanization" and the part that future-oriented, energy-efficient construction and building-materials machinery can play. Indonesia Day Bauma's partner country this year – Indonesia – is also in the focus in a special day dedicated to it as part of the forum. This is also being organized in cooperation with the VDMA. On Wednesday, April 17, there will be a theme block on Indonesia's building industry and infrastructure, and one on mining. Expected to take part here are Djoko Kirmanto, Minister of Public Works, and the Vice Minister of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, Luky Eko Wuryanto. Theme Specials In addition to this the bauma Forum will be looking at a range of special themes. One of those is "Future Technology Geothermal Energy – Challenges and Chances", including introductory lectures on deep and near-surface geothermal drilling. The cooperation partners for these lectures on Thursday, April 18, and Friday, April 19, are the Geothermische Vereinigung Bundesverband Geothermie e.V. (GtV), the Internationales Geothermiezentrum Bochum and the VDMA. The VDMA section "Lenkungskreis Forschung und Technik" will also be presenting symposia and workshops on innovative research projects of the VDMA, on the Friday.
