Lumination BL Series LED Luminaires work with USG Logix

Today there is a renaissance occurring in the commercial ceiling space where continuous or 'monolithic' designs are injecting new energy into traditionally uninspired areas. Engineered to fit tomorrow's integrated ceiling systems, GE's new Lumination BL Series LED Luminaires help free architects and lighting professionals from the constraints of traditional t-grid ceiling designs. Lumination BL Series LED Luminaires were designed and tested specifically for the Logix Ceiling System from USG and are compatible with most other integrated ceiling systems in the marketplace today. Increasingly popular in commercial office, retail and other contemporary environments, integrated ceiling systems reimagine lighting and utilities not as exposed fixtures but contained within narrow bands running the length of the room. This gives designers the freedom to create ceilings with a clean, finished appearance that still retain the functionality of a T-grid system for standard maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.

An integrated ceiling design cleans up the customary "patchwork" of intersecting 2'x2', 2'x4' and 1'x4' T-grids. The advantage is that larger, more decorative acoustical panels can be incorporated into the layout, making it easy to create a continuous-looking ceiling that best suites the space.

A product of GE ecomagination, Lumination BL Series LED Luminaires offer up to 39-percent improved energy efficiency opposed to traditional fluorescent lighting. They are available in 4 and 5 foot lengths measuring 4 or 6 inches wide, and come prepared with adaptable mounting brackets for easy compatibility with different integrated ceiling systems.

Delivering bright, highly uniform light while minimizing shadow, GE's 'instant on' and dimmable luminaires also integrate easily with lighting control systems—having removable end caps for quick wiring. These removable ends further allow continuous row mounting for creating long, uninterrupted stripes of light—unlike with fluorescent systems, where dark spots exist between fixture connection points. The luminaires' advanced thermal management system, meanwhile, supports reliable performance and long life—up to four times longer than fluorescent options. As well, multiple lumen packages and distributions for glare control are available.

These new lighting fixtures from GE are contained within fully recyclable aluminum housings and contain no lead, glass or mercury.
