NCC to build energy-efficient offices in Oslo

Sweden-based NCC has been commissioned by Entra Eindom to construct an office building in Oslo, with Statoil Fuel & Retail as tenant. The project is valued at approximately SEK 370 million, which will be registered in the first quarter of 2013.

The office, will be constructed to achieve an "Excellent" level from the BREEAM environmental certification system, as well as a Class B energy classification.

"Both private and public customers, as well as the users and tenants of office buildings, are imposing increasingly rigorous environmental demands. We have expertise in the environmental area and are delighted to be entrusted with the assignment, " says Nils Christensen, Regional Manager of NCC Construction Norway.

During the detailed-planning phase of the project, VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) will be used. This is a method for planning and constructing projects virtually using 3D objects before they actually become a reality. VDC facilitates good understanding of the solutions among all parties involved in the project as early as the planning stage.

The office, which will comprise a total of 15,300 square meters, including 4,200 square meters of parking, will consist of eight stories and two basement floors. The property is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2015.
