BAM wins contract for dive-under in West-London

Network Rail has awarded BAM Nuttall (the UK civil engineering company of Royal BAM Group nv) the contract to construct a new rail underpass structure (dive-under) in Ealing, West-London. The contract value is €24 million (£20 million). The construction work has started this month and will be completed in 2016.

The dive-under with a length of 960 metres will be constructed at Acton Freight Yard in Ealing. The new structure will allow freight trains to access the yard without affecting passenger trains on the Great Western main line (GWML). The infrastructure improvements will be essential once Crossrail services begin in 2018 and even more trains will travel along the GWML.
