| BAM to redevelop East Midlands Airport ![]() BAM has begun enabling works, but the main construction phase takes place between January and December 2013. The contractor will carry out the major works while the airport continues operating as normal. BAM, which is just completing delivery of Derby Council's new Civic Offices, places great emphasis on trying to secure local labour and materials for its projects. BAM used its experience at Newcastle International Airport – where it built a three-storey terminal extension earlier this year – in its bid for the East Midlands Airport scheme. Mr Kiteley added: 'It is an important success for us to win this work with East Midlands Airport, because it builds on the success of our Newcastle International Airport scheme. We look forward to delivering a larger terminal to enhance the experience of the 4.3 million passengers that use the airport every year.' write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Construction News :: home page |
