| Caffaro extending strategic supply agreement for sodium chlorite Caffaro Brescia (which purchased the Brescia, Italy sodium chlorite plant of the former Caffaro Chimica S.r.l.) has extended their supply agreement with DuPont for sodium chlorite. This extension secures the plant's output for distribution to DuPont customers and distributors, supporting the company's position in the chlorine dioxide market and its commitment for a long-term, reliable supply of sodium chlorite to customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa. At the same time Caffaro, in accordance with agreements reached with the special commissioner, continues to invest in modernizing and improving the efficiency of the production site in Brescia, through energy-saving measures and other commitments. A further potential to strengthen the position of the Caffaro site could arise if the new upcoming "Decreto per lo Sviluppo" (Decree for Development) is approved by the Italian Government, including within it, a review of excise duties on electricity consumption and a special tariff treatment for companies that are energy-intensive in their manufacturing processes. The Decree foresees a new definition of "energy intensive" company, based on the European legislation and finalized to the revision of excise duties and general electricity system charges burdening such companies, where energy has a significant impact on production, as in the case of sodium chlorite. Caffaro Brescia S.p.A. is a Company belonging to the Fin-Todisco Holding Group. Fin-Todisco is also the holding company for Soc. Chimica Emilio Fedeli S.p.A., a major Italian trader and importer of chemicals that manages five coastal warehouses and moves more than 250.000 metric tonnes each year. write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Construction News :: home page |
