| Mott MacDonald named designer for the Shatin to Central Link, Hong Kong Mott MacDonald has been appointed by the Samsung-Hsin Chong Joint Venture (SHJV) as contractor's designer for the MTR Corporation's Shatin to Central Link (SCL) contract 1109 in Hong Kong. The HK$4.6 billion contract is the first of the major civil works contracts on SCL and comprises the construction of two new underground stations in the densely-populated Kowloon City area of Central Kowloon. The project also includes 1.6km of twin-bored tunnel. Elements include temporary works design for earth lateral support at the station boxes, TBM boring and various underpinning works in the East Kowloon Corridor.
