| Skuld subsea - a real fast track Aker Solutions has successfully completed the manufacturing and subsequent load-out of one template and three manifolds for Statoil's Skuld field in the North Sea. The delivery of the subsea manifolds and template is the yard's second hardware load-out for the Skuld project. The first, consisting of two templates, was also delivered on budget and on time in line with Statoil's standardisation objectives to reduce cost levels as well as risk and time in executing the project. "Aker Solutions was awarded the contract in April 2011. In just over a year Aker Solutions has done a fantastic job, where the three integrated manifolds are the main deliverables. A close follow-up, cooperation and trust between the teams from Aker Solutions and Statoil has been crucial in achieving such a complex delivery, " says Erik Opøien, company responsible for Skuld in Statoil. The templates and the manifolds are destined for the Skuld field, which is located north of the Norne field, approximately 200 kilometres west of Sandessjøen, Norway, in a water depth of 360 metres. Skuld is a development project covering the Dompap and Fossekall oil discoveries. Dompap was discovered in 2009 and Fossekall as late as April 2010. The subsea installations will be tied back to the Norne floating production storage and offloading vessel through a production flowline. Skuld is implemented as a "fast track" project, with short execution time and optimal value. write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Construction News :: home page |
