| Nordea to move to sculptural headquarters The largest bank in the Nordic region, Nordea, plans to move part of its Danish headquarters to a new building in the Ørestad district in Copenhagen. Danish engineering firm Ramboll has been appointed as client advisor for the project by Nordea Properties. A large building consultancy project with Nordea is about to commence for Ramboll. The new office building will be able to accommodate between 1,800 and 2,200 employees. It covers 46,000 m² and includes a 10,000 m² basement with the option for further extension to a total area of 70,000 m². The complex comprises four light sculptural buildings placed on a base, which in the south is characterised by sloping parkland and to the north is expressed as two-storey brick façade facing the street. The project has a strong focus on sustainability with an ambition that the building will receive an LEED Platinum certification. The sustainability credentials of the building will be reflected in advanced water and energy efficiency systems, the choice of materials and a high quality indoor environment. As client adviser to Nordea Properties, Ramboll will provide process and technical advice throughout the project, from the initial preparation of the construction programme to the delivery of the finished building. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015. Illustrations: Henning Larsen Architects write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Construction News :: home page |
