| Arcadis subsidiary EC Harris and Mace win contract from Ashghal Dutch design giant Arcadis announced that Ashghal, Qatar's public works authority (PWA), has appointed a joint venture between Arcadis subsidiary EC Harris and Mace to deliver a major program social infrastructure building projects across the country. The contract is worth a total of QR415million (£72million), and will last for five years, with the option to extend by a further two years. Due to the population and economic growth in the State of Qatar, and the realization of the Qatar National Vision 2030, there is a significant increase in the requirement for public and government buildings and facilities in the country. The joint venture team of EC Harris and Mace has been appointed as Program Management Consultant (PMC) to undertake the program management of Building Projects in association and coordination with the PWA and their appointed consultants and contractors. The joint venture will undertake all the program management activities required for planning, procurement, and management of the design, supervision, and construction contracts for a wide range of project types throughout Qatar, including Educational Facilities; Healthcare Facilities; Ports and Waterfront Development; Public Tourism Facilities; Public Sports and Assembly Facilities; Parks and Recreational Facilities.
