| Acciona marks World Biodiversity Day  Today, May 22nd is World Biodiversity Day and Spanish energy and infrastructure giant Acciona is joining in the celebrations by making known its commitment to this field.This day was appointed by the UN General Assembly to mark the anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on Biological Diversity in 1992. It stands as a reminder of the gradual loss of biodiversity, as well as the fight on climate change, which is the main environmental challenge that is facing humankind. Acciona strengthens its environmental commitment daily. Along these lines, and for the first time ever in the business community, an Environment and Biodiversity Specific Organization Unit was set up recently. At the same time a Panel of Experts was set up, made up of leading members of the academic and professional areas of this field. The Unit has a number of objectives and one of the main ones is to come up with the design and thrust for innovative ways of achieving conservation and environmental improvements which help our Company to stand apart from its rivals. The Unit also sets out to identify and leverage all its environment-related activities and place them at the top of its list of priorities. These activities include the conservation of species, solutions for impacts on the environment and the efficient use of natural resources. Acciona is engaged in a long list of projects and actions aimed at protecting the environment.
