| Fläkt Woods products selected on new national stadium in Warsaw  Fläkt Woods has provided a range its bespoke ventilation equipment for the new National Stadium (Stadion Narodowy) football stadium in Warsaw, Poland. Located on the site of the former 10th-Anniversary Stadium, the contract includes jet thrust systems, diffusers and chilled beams. The new stadium has a seating capacity of 58,145. It features a unique retractable PVC roof which unfolds from a nest on a needle suspended above the centre of the pitch. Fläkt Woods is the only manufacturer in the world to offer products with truly symmetrical technology, achieving 100% thrust in both forward and reverse operation. In the event of a fire, this new technology allows smoke to be directed to the nearest extract point, making Fläkt Woods jet thrust system the safest on the market today, for ventilating car parking areas.A team of committed and highly trained engineers - specialists in car park ventilation - used the latest full fire-modelling CFX software, with complete CFD (computational fluid dynamics) and ventilation modelling, to design the ventilation requirements for the new 2 level car park, which has been constructed under the pitch (with a capacity for about 1770 cars), helping to ensure accuracy, operational and cost effectiveness. NWPA diffusers were installed; these are designed for cooling or heating for public premises. Mounted diffusers they are for ceiling mounting and normally installed in false ceilings. Ultimate comfort conditions for the building occupants meant that convective cooling was the preferred choice for the new stadium. Fläkt Woods' passive chilled beams provide efficient cost-effective cooling, and with the absence of moving parts require little maintenance, providing room cooling by using natural heat convection. Contractors were able to select a ceiling system without the need to integrate a visible cooling device. The beams are being installed in a shallow (500mm) ceiling void, over a stylish perforated modular metal ceiling structure. The new stadium is due to host three group matches (one of the group matches will be the opening game), a quarterfinal, and semi-final of the UEFA Euro 2012 football tournament hosted by Poland and Ukraine.
