| Skanska starts the second phase of Green Horizon office project in Poland Swedish construction giant Skanska invests EUR 22 M, about SEK 200 M, in the second phase of the Green Horizon office project in Łódź, Poland. The second phase comprises 14,000 square meters and together with the first phase, where construction started in March 2011, the total leasable space will be 33,000 square meters. Construction works on the second phase will start in March 2012 and its completion is scheduled for second quarter 2013. Green Horizon is Skanska Property Poland's first office investment in Łódź. 97 percent of the office space in Phase I is already leased, with contracts signed with Infosys BPO Poland and Skanska Poland. Green Horizon is located at the crossroads of main communication routes in the city, enabling easy access to public transportation. The ground floor of the seven-storey scheme will house a retail part with stores, service points, catering facilities and a restaurant. Green Horizon will be the first LEED-certified office building in Łódź. The project has already obtained LEED Gold precertification thanks to green solutions leading to energy and water efficiency to minimize the building's impact on natural environment and reduce operating costs. These include the free cooling system, use of warm air from offices to heat the garage, as well as parking space for cyclists. write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Construction News :: home page |
