| Interna-Rail handrail system as alternative to stainless steel In a recent application Hollaender Manufacturing delivered an architectural railing system as part of a major renovation that took place at Sacred Heart Schools' Ursuline Arts Center in Louisville, Kentucky. While the original design specified a custom stainless steel railing system, the project architect chose to install Hollaender's Interna-Rail frame with diagonal 2" x 2" wire mesh infill panels. At half the cost of the original handrail estimate, the Hollaender solution was dubbed, a "painless alternative to stainless". The final installation proved to be a perfect and cost-effective solution for this highly visible, professional caliber venue. The system's diagonal 2" x 2" wire mesh infill panels accommodated the upscale look the project architects were seeking while addressing crowd control issues and allowing greater visibility for visitors. Since Interna-Rail is constructed of non-corrosive aluminum, and requires very little maintenance, it will also last longer and require less maintenance than the originally specified stainless steel handrail. write your comments about the article :: © 2012 Construction News :: home page |
