| Energy efficient development in Kent  A house builder has launched 116 new homes in Kent that comply with the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4. The brand new landmark development has been built by Ward Homes, who are based in Kent, in the Victoria Park grounds located near Darenth. The development is in the grounds of the historic Stone House Hospital. There are a range of new homes for sale in Kent including one and two bedroom apartments, two bedroom coach houses and three and four bedroom family homes. All of the new homes comply with the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, making them some of the most energy efficient and sustainable homes in the UK with up to 44% carbon reduction as defined by the UK national building regulations. Their Level 4 energy efficiency includes renewable energy solar panels, wall and roof insulation and door and window glazing to retain heat. The newly built homes will also reduce running costs for homeowners. The new properties utilise traditional construction materials including sandstone, brick, wood and slate that are sympathetic to the environment of the former hospital site. The homes are offered to the market with a ten-year National House-Building Council (NHBC) guarantee that covers the costs of any damage caused by defects, especially the structural and weatherproofing parts. The homes also come with the additional benefit of a five-year warranty on fixtures and fittings.
