| Saint-Gobain acquires Abrasivos Argentinos S.A. and Dancan S.A. French building materials giant Saint-Gobain has just finalized the acquisition of Abrasivos Argentinos S.A. and Dancan S.A. in Argentina, together with their subsidiaries in Brazil and Uruguay, specialized in the production of coated abrasives and masking tapes. Founded in 1944, these two companiesare headquartered in Buenos Aires. Their abrasive products are used in the metals, automotive, timber and construction industries, and distributed in Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. Their aggregated turnover amounted to €27million in 2010, for a total workforce of 450 employees. Abrasivos Argentinos S.A. has a plant in Buenos Aires and Dancan S.A. is located in Pilar, 60km from the Argentinean capital.
