Economical and effective restoration with CorrVerter

Cortec Corporation presents VpCI CorrVerter, a new water-based converter and primer for Corrosion Protection. It is recommended for rusty or poorly prepared steel surfaces, where further corrosion protection is required, and good surface preparation is difficult to achieve. The product is formulated to penetrate and eliminate rust, and can easily be applied under varying weather conditions. It penetrates to the bare metal, and stops further rusting, providing a long-term corrosion protection.

A novel chemical chelating agent that CorrVerter contains, modifies the surface rust into a hydrophobic passive layer, while being combined with a high solids waterborne latex, with extremely low water vapour permeability. This combination offers a unique formulation for excellent and efficient protection against re-rusting. Since the product does not contain tannic or phosphoric acids, and has a very low VOC, it is completely environmentally safe and non–toxic.

CorrVerter also works in the presence of excess salt contamination, which makes it an excellent solution for marine applications. Primer can be top coated with solvent based and water-based paints, unlike acid-based coatings, which can only be topcoated with solvent-based paints.

For a customer that requires economical and effective restoration, CorrVerter gives the benefit of a substantial reduction of cost, of the entire restoration project. It can be effectively used to enhance the appearance of a manufacturing plants and other facilities. Among numerous restoration projects where CorrVerter was used, is also the well-known Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, where corrosion had to be slowed with a limited budget.

In many cases application of CorrVerter over rusty surfaces eliminates need for sandblasting and anti corrosion primers, providing owners with longlasting corrosion protection, at much lower cost, safety for applicators and environmentally friendly solution.
