| Armoured door that is synonymous with technology and design The evocative image called up by the word "armoured" is certainly not one of openness, spaciousness and light. Something armoured is closed, protected and reinforced. It is something safe, where you can assemble to avoid dangers. A car may be armoured, like a safe or a tank. But when the need arises within the realm of domestic life, the suffocating and inaccessible effect that accompanies the safety of something armoured takes on a less tolerable or acceptable weight. To avoid this, years of experimentation and study have led Oikos, a leader in the production of armoured doors, to create Synua, at the top of their entirely Made in Italy range. Oikos Synua has represented and continues to represent the evolution of armoured doors today. It was in fact the first armoured door conceived with a "horizontal" concept, in times when doorframes were seen and developed solely with the vertical spatial concept. Synua is therefore a true revolution in armoured door fixtures, even more justified by the fact that Synua is perfectly parallel to the wall – the first of its kind on the market. Even the especially patented handle is parallel. Synua has no projections or hinges. The opening/closing mechanism does not take place with the traditional hinges attached to the frame, but with a vertical pivot, namely two pins located at the vertical extremities like a fulcrum, which are adjustable and completely disappear. Initially conceived as an entrance door, Synua has lent itself to various other solutions for other applications, thanks to its innovative characteristics, together with the potential large dimensions that enable it to reach up to a maximum of 2.2 m in width, by 3 m in height, for a single door panel. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
