| SNC-Lavalin wins Statoil’s engineering contract SNC-Lavalin, the Montreal-based engineering and construction giant, announced that it has been awarded a contract by Statoil UK to carry out front-end engineering for its approximately 20,000 tonne substructure for the Mariner offshore development in the North Sea. The jacket, which will be installed by barge, will be located in a water depth of 110 metres and support 50 wells. It will also support a large production, drilling and quarters (PDQ) topside facility. The oil will be exported to a nearby floating storage unit and then to market by shuttle tanker. Statoil expects a final investment decision in late 2012 and first oil in late 2016.
