| Aecom earns top honors for urban design excellence US architecture giant Aecom recently won First Prize in the Urban Design category at the 14th Annual Shenzhen Planning and Design Awards for its contribution to the development of the Shenzhen's Longgang District. Working in collaboration with the China Academy of Urban Planning & Design, a team of designers from the Shenzhen and Hong Kong offices adopted an innovative macro-planning approach for the development framework of the 844-square-kilometer district. Actionable urban design guidelines were also developed for this project, which in turn will be used to instruct the city's statutory planning procedures.
