| Baker awarded construction services contract from N.C. DOT Michael Baker Engineering, Inc., a unit of Michael Baker Corp, (NYSE Amex:BKR), has been awarded an approximately $5.0 million contract by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, to provide construction engineering and inspection services for the I-85 Corridor Improvement Project in Davidson County, North Carolina. Specifically, the construction involves the 3.6-mile, design-build widening and reconstruction of I-85 from north of North Carolina State Route 150 to north of Business Route I-85. Services provided include construction inspection, materials sampling and testing, quality assurance oversight, quantities calculations, project documentation, interpretation of plans and specifications, permit compliance, and maintenance and protection of traffic.
