| Kone wins an order for Eton Place Dalian in China Finnish lift maker Kone has been selected to deliver 42 elevators and 60 escalators to the Eton Place Dalian complex in the port city of Dalian in China. Kone's innovative and customized solutions will be installed in the 280-meter high Eton Place Tower 2 and the six-storey commercial podium. The order includes 23 Kone MonoSpace, 15 Kone MiniSpace and four Kone freight elevators, as well as 51 Kone TravelMaster and nine Kone TransitMaster escalators. Altogether these solutions will ensure the smooth people flow of the thousands who will be working, living and shopping in the building complex. The 62-storey tower housing offices and serviced apartments will have the Kone E-Link traffic monitoring system to guarantee a high level of service, thereby maximizing People Flow. The fastest elevators will be traveling at a speed of 8 m/s and the maximum travel distance of 271 meters. The six-storey retail base unites all five towers of the Eton Place complex and will house luxury shops, department stores, cinemas and theaters. Eton Place Dalian is being developed by Eton XingYe (Dalian) Co., Ltd. and is one of several projects under construction by Eton Properties Group. The five-building complex is designed by NBBJ, the architect behind Kone references such as Capital City in Moscow. Eton Place Tower 2 and the shopping mall are expected to be completed in early 2013.
