Bilfinger Berger acquires market leader in finned tubes

Bilfinger Berger, a Germany-based construction and services group, is further expanding its activities in the Power Services business segment with the acquisition of Rosink Apparate- und Anlagenbau GmbH in Nordhorn, Germany. Rosink is a leading provider of heating surface cleaning systems in Europe and market leader in the production of finned tubes in Germany. As part of the acquisition, Bilfinger Berger also receives a number of important patents. The highly profitable company generates an annual output volume of €25 million with 160 employees. The two parties have agreed not to disclose details of the purchase price.

The acquisition enables Bilfinger Berger Power Services to complement its activities in the manufacturing and assembly of waste heat boilers, the efficiency of which is influenced to a great extent by the dimensioning of the finned tubes. The company is now in a position to offer complete boilers for combined cycle power plants. In addition, new opportunities are opened up in the marketing of heating system cleaning systems for power plant boilers through the use of Bilfinger Berger's international distribution network.
