| Jacobs wins contract for I-280 Harrison ramp improvements Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE: JEC) announced that it received a contract for $2.3 million from the Hudson County Improvement Authority (HCIA) to develop a preferred alternative for the consolidation of existing ramps and the construction of additional ramps to I-280, located in the Town of Harrison in Hudson County, NJ. Along with the consolidation of existing ramps and the construction of additional ramps, Jacobs is responsible for the preparation of the appropriate technical environmental studies and an Environmental Assessment pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act. The project is expected to improve pedestrian safety, remove truck traffic from local streets and reduce traffic congestion in and around the Harrison area, in addition to improving access to the local neighborhood while providing network connections consistent with the city's long-term land use plans, particularly the Harrison Waterfront Redevelopment area. The improvements also complement the Stickle Memorial Bridge ramp improvements currently proposed by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
