| Schindler opens new R&D facility in India  Swiss elevator and escalator maker Schindler has established a new Corporate Research & Development center in India to tap into the country's large pool of engineering talent.The new facility, inaugurated in July, is located in the Pimpri Area of Pune City, southwest of Mumbai, where Schindler has its India headquarters. It will focus on developing world-class skills for component design and on nurturing cooperation with local engineering companies.
