International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition starts in China

This year's International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition will be held from 27 to 29 September at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center. Its position as largest international trade fair in the field of powder, granule and bulk solids technology in China is underpinned by a continually growing numbers of exhibitors and visitors. In 2011 a further increase of exhibitors is expected yet again. Leading global companies will exhibit at the POWTECH pavilion, complementing advanced technology shown by Asian companies. The trade fair is organized jointly by the Chinese Society of Particuology (CSP), NürnbergMesse China Co., Ltd. and Worldwide Exhibitions Service Co., Ltd.

China is a large growth market for suppliers of powder, granule and bulk solids. Most of the industry giants in the fields of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, food, mining, cement, metallurgicals, etc. treat China as an integral part of their global business strategies. For two decades China has shown a consistent economic growth in this sector. Today, it is the world's number one in foreign direct investments as well as the world's third largest chemical producer.

This development has been accelerated both by China's WTO entry in 2001 which facilitated access for foreign investors and by the steady deregulation and adaptation to market economy structures. For example, the output of the coatings branch amounted to about nine million tons in 2010, which means an increase of 28 percent in comparison to the output in 2009.

Growing Asian markets meet international expertise
The International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition offers foreign companies an exclusive insight not only into the growing Asian market but also into the international powder and bulk branch. This is represented by international leading participants such as HOSOKAWA, NEUMAN & ESSER and WAM at the POWTECH pavilion or the Japanese pavilion which is organized by IPB's overseas partner, the association of Powder Process Industry and Engineering, Japan, (APPIE).

At IPB 2011, 160 exhibitors from the areas of basic processing technologies for powder and bulk materials, plant engineering and processing components, particle analysis and characterization, nano particle technologies, measurement and control, as well as safety and environmental technologies will attend.

Service sector companies will equally be represented, demonstrating new plant construction and planning opportunities, training and consultancy possibilities or technical publications. The excellent choice of exhibitors and the wide range of know-how presented at this year's IPB on 2, 200 sqm are set to attract international high-level visitors. Last year the fair was frequented by more than 6, 100 experts from 17 different countries looking for business opportunities and practical expertise.

Explosion protection and purification technologies
The 9th International Powder/Bulk Conference & Exhibition will be rounded off by an informative supporting program, including the INDEX Safety Symposium, which is organized by the International Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection (INDEX). The symposium's topics will focus on explosion protection engineering in practice and its standards and legislations. Additionally the gas-solid separation and purification technology conference will take place, organized by the Chinese Society of Particuology. Invited are professors from China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and the Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry and Shanghai Polytechnic University.

With its international and differentiated program, the IPB 2011 will be an excellent platform for the powder industry in China. As the only Chinese international exhibition in this branch, IPB has accumulated a wealth of experience in database resources, expert resources and industry knowledge, and has strong support from local and international partners in the powder and bulk industry.

IPB is part of the POWDER & BULK NETWORK, a successful concentration of events in this field. It is based on POWTECH, the International Trade Fair for Mechanical Processing Technologies and Instrumentation in Nuremberg, Germany, which is the established leading exhibition on related topics. Together with Powder & Bulk Solids India in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, and BulkSolids Europe and the World Congress on Particle Technology (WCPT) the NETWORK spans the globe, covering all the relevant key world markets.
