| Waterproofing the foundations of a wind turbine ![]() The foundation as well as the junction with the turret has to be waterproofed using a material that will fully bond to both the concrete substrate and the upstand without the use of mechanical or adhesive fixings. Most importantly for this application the membrane must be permanently elastic to withstand movement as well as being permeable to water vapour. It is this combination of performance features that makes Kemperol so highly suited to this type of application. Little wonder that on the more common, but relatively benign application of a flat roof, Kemperol should have a trouble-free life expectancy well in excess of 25 years. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
