The Vinci-Fayat consortium to build future Bordeaux stadium

Alain Juppé, Mayor of Bordeaux, has just declared Stade Bordeaux Atlantique, the consortium led by Vinci Concessions in association with Fayat Group, the preferred bidder for the PPP contract to design, finance, build, operate and maintain the new 40,000-seat Bordeaux stadium.

The stadium will be designed and built by a construction consortium comprising lead company Vinci Construction France, via its subsidiaries GTM Bâtiment Aquitaine-Limousin and Faure Silva, and the Fayat Group. This consortium will be supported by international architectural firm Herzog & de Meuron assisted by Groupe 6 and Stadia Consulting Group teams.

The new Bordeaux stadium will be handed over in 2015. It will be operated by the Stade Bordeaux Atlantique company, a joint subsidiary of Vinci Concessions and Fayat SA. Vinci Facilities will handle upkeep and maintenance.

Located in the 'green belt' of the Bordeaux Lac district, the new Bordeaux stadium project will pay particular attention to the landscaping of the site, which has been entrusted to landscape architect Michel Desvigne, winner of the 2011 Grand Prix de l'Urbanisme award.

Vinci Concessions has operated the Stade de France under a concession contract since 1998 and the MMArena stadium in Le Mans since 2011. The Group will operate the future Nice Stadium to be handed over in 2013.
