Skanska to build Statoil’s new office in Bergen, Norway

Swedish construction firm Skanska has received the assignment to construct Statoil's new office in Bergen, Norway. The contract totals NOK 1.3 billion, about SEK 1.5 billion, which will be included in order bookings for the third quarter.

The project comprises 55,000 square meters of new office space in Sandsli, Bergen, dimensioned for 1,100 workplaces. The office building will also house technical rooms, parking facilities and goods arrival/storage.

Skanska will be implementing the project in accordance with Skanska's Green Workplace concept. The objective is to reduce energy consumption for lighting and heating in the construction phase. In addition, environmental demands will be placed on vehicles and chemical products.

Construction work will commence in July and is estimated to continue until January 2014. At most, about 300 people will be involved in the project.
