| Parsons awarded project for STIF in Paris Parsons announced that Syndicat des Transports d'lle de France (STIF) has awarded it a contract to provide high-level technical and strategy advice regarding the business case of a future new technology signaling system to be deployed on the western extension of the RER line E (the very high-profile "EOLE" project). This contract is part of a massive transportation plan for the Parisian rail transit network recently approved by the French government. One of the objectives of this plan is to improve the punctuality of the train services by upgrading the signaling systems. STIF was particularly interested by Parsons' experience in advising major transport authorities around the world regarding resignaling projects using modern technology train control systems as well as the firm's ability to capture business requirements and analyze different technical solutions while focusing on the anticipated benefits of the new systems, Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC), and the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
