Ditec’s sectional doors and automation in South Tyrol

Anyone who has been fortunate enough to spend a few days' holiday among the picturesque villages and green valleys of the South Tyrol, amid pristine, gushing streams, conifer forests and majestic mountains, will struggle to imagine that there are some who prefer a city apartment to such a piece of paradise. And yet, when it comes down to job opportunities or helping your children get to university, the city is where we usually end up. Luckily, though, the towns here are still on a human scale. Their welcoming, clean, well-kept streets are a joy in comparison to the great metropolises like Rome or Milan.

Nevertheless, centres like Bolzano and Merano are growing; especially on the outskirts, new multi-storey buildings are the face of an urbanisation process that is becoming increasingly apparent. This urban expansion represents, of course, a real opportunity for savvy businesses, especially for those in the construction, renovation and other related sectors. Such as automatic entrance manufacturers.

The Ditec Expert Specialist for Bolzano, Padoan Automazioni Commerciale, is doing an outstanding job here. Take the Cooperativa Diamante, for example; at this new private residential complex in the city, they have installed 85 Paris sectional doors with GoldAlu window grilles – their crisp yet easy style always makes a positive impact and stands out for its elegant simplicity. The automation systems use a ceiling-mounted Globe drive unit, a Ditec "classic" that is reliable, robust and compact.

Ditec Expert has also been responsible for automating forty overhead doors in the underground car park in central Merano that has been built through a public-private partnership. This project used the Ditec Box mechanism, which is easy to install without requiring any structural alterations to any overhead garage door, whether flush-fitted or articulated, which uses one or two gear motors to get things moving. And Padoan's sterling work doesn't stop at the Austrian border, as the automatic pedestrian doors that invite customers into the Volkswagen Audi dealership in Innsbruck are Ditec Valor models. Their quietness and sophisticated appearance have been much appreciated, along with the versatility of the range, which can be installed in many different operating environments. Finding the ideal solution for the showroom, then, was a painless process too.
