| ABB wins power order in Finland Swiss engineering group ABB has won an order worth about $19 million from Fingrid, the transmission system operator in Finland, to expand and upgrade an existing 400/110 kV (kilovolt) substation. The project is part of an extensive investment program to strengthen the country's main electrical grid and prepare for the integration of new carbon neutral electricity generation capacity being added. ABB will refurbish and expand the 400 kV outdoor switchyard, replace the 110 kV outdoor switchgear and upgrade protection systems at the Hikiä substation, located in Hausjärvi in southern Finland. Some of the major products to be supplied include the 400 kV disconnecting circuit breakers and the 110 kV gas-insulated switchgear. As part of the turnkey project, ABB is responsible for the design, engineering, supply, erection and commissioning of the substation. The project will be implemented in an operating network, requiring detailed planning and execution, and is expected to be completed by 2013. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
