| Collector protection package Clariant launches its new long-term protection package for extending a solar collector's life. Clariant's new cleaning liquid Antifrogen SOL CLEAN, making its market debut at Intersolar 2011, complements Clariant's trusted Antifrogen SOL HT heat transfer fluid which protects solar systems from corrosive attack, even in extreme environments. Antifrogen SOL CLEAN is a biodegradable liquid designed to remove cracked propylene glycol based heat transfer fluid in both flat and vacuum collectors. Cracked propylene glycol transfer fluid can affect operating performance by narrowing and / or plugging collector pipes. The powerful cleaning action of Antifrogen SOL CLEAN prepares the system for restarting with a high performance heat transfer fluid like Antifrogen SOL HT in an optimal way. When used from the outset in new solar collectors Antifrogen SOL HT heat transfer fluid significantly reduces the need for future cleaning, as it sets new limits in protection that ensure longer life expectancy for collectors. Based on higher-boiling glycols, Antifrogen SOL HT is a specially designed heat transfer fluid with superior thermal stability for highly stressed solar heating systems. Special corrosion inhibitors protect the metals normally used in solar heating systems against corrosion (according to test method ASTM D1384) and the formation of boiler scale. Antifrogen SOL HT is valued by the solar energy industry for its efficient, long-term corrosion and frost protection. Intended for permanent usage temperatures of -23˚ C to +200˚ C, its high temperature performance reduces the potential for system operating problems and associated maintenance and down-time. Antifrogen SOL HT offers a burst resistance minimum of -40˚ C and is classified in WGK 1. Available traditionally as a convenient, ready-to-use premix, Clariant now offers the heat transfer fluid in concentrate form, with the associated benefits of lower transport costs and inventory and storage cost savings. "For customers looking to make corrosion/plugging a problem of the past for their solar collector, switching to Clariant's Antifrogen protection package of cleaning liquid and advanced heat transfer fluid will give systems a new and extended lease of life without the concern of early crack development" comments Achim Stankowiak, Head of Application Engineering & Aviation from Clariant. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
