| Geobrugg Success at the 2011 GE Awards Geobrugg AG entered the Ground Engineering Awards for the first time this year and has produced an immediate success. The prestigious panel of judges awarded the Product Innovation Award to Geobrugg AG for their advanced GBE Rock Fall Barrier Range of rock fall protection barriers. The awards, hosted by stand up comedian, Russell Kane, were presented at the prestigious five star Grosvenor House Hotel, on London's Park Lane. Attended by over 250 clients and leaders in consultancy and contracting in the geotechnical engineering industry, these awards brought together the key players in the market and the ones to watch. The Product Innovation award was presented by Alex Kidd of the Highways Agency to Andrea Roth - General Manager of Geobrugg AG - Protection Systems at the awards event in central London on 11th May 2011. The GBE Rock Fall Barrier range for impact energies of 500 kJ to 3000 kJ is the only rock fall barrier range readily available in the UK and Republic of Ireland that is fully and officially compliant with the formal European Guidelines ETAG 27 published by the European Organisation for Technical Approvals - EOTA. Rock fall barriers with official European Technical Approvals, unanimously confirmed by each of the EU member states, can carry the important CE marking, being the official (legally binding) declaration of conformity. At the same awards event the A83 Rest and be Thankful Landslide and Debris Flow Protection project was Commended in the Geotechnical Project up to £1 million category. This project used Geobrugg's shallow landslide and debris flow barriers - a first for the UK. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
