| Exclusive roofing system withstands tornadoes The devastating tornadoes that hit at least twenty counties in North Carolina on April 16, 2011 caused fatalities and injuries, demolished homes and destroyed property. In the aftermath of the storms, officials with Advanced Metal Roofing contacted metal roof customers in areas hit hard by the storms to check in and see how they and their homes had fared. One Advanced Metal Roofing customer's home in Sanford, N.C., who had recently installed a MetalMan Roofing System, managed to escape significant damage from the tornadoes, although there was evidence of the high winds in terms of damage to his property including torn trim on the house and a bent steel fence. Just a few feet away, a neighboring house was devastated, leaving just a shell of the brick house standing without a roof or windows left intact. Another neighbor lost most of his asphalt shingle roof in the winds, while area trees and metal light posts were bent and broken. The Sanford, N.C. Advanced Metal Roofing customer was lucky to be barely out of the storm's destructive reach, but because he sustained the high winds of the storms, he greatly benefited from the protection that the MetalMan Roofing System provided for their house. Not only was the metal roofing unharmed, but the interior of the home was protected and they were saved from expensive repairs and damage to highly valued items. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
