DuPont enters supply agreement with Caffaro Brescia

DuPont has entered into a strategic supply agreement with Caffaro Brescia S.p.A., which has purchased the Brescia, Italy sodium chlorite plant of the former Caffaro Chimica S.r.l. This agreement secures the plant's output for distribution to DuPont customers and distributors, expanding the company's position in chlorine dioxide and establishing long-term, reliable supply of sodium chlorite to customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa and around the world.

Sodium chlorite is a raw material for the production of chlorine dioxide, for which DuPont Clean & Disinfect business has world-class expertise in chemistry, technology and applications. Chlorine dioxide (ClO2) is used in a range of water disinfection applications for consumer and industrial use, including drinking water treatment. ClO2 is an ideal replacement for chlorine, providing the same benefits and more, but without the potential concerns.
