| BulkSolids India on growth From April 6 to 8, 2011, BulkSolids India attracted the international storage, handling and processing industry for three days. 942 trade visitors attended the conference and exhibition at the Nehru Centre venue in Mumbai, India. While the latest developments in the mechanical processing industry and various opinions were being shared at the English-language conference, 62 companies took part in the accompanying exhibition. The brand-new BulkSolids Awards and the newly established workshops both enjoyed great popularity. As a member of the POWDER & BULK NETWORK, BulkSolids India for the first time hosted a POWTECH pavilion, featuring ten companies that are also exhibiting at the related POWTECH trade fair in Nuremberg. Since last year, BulkSolids India has been jointly organized by NürnbergMesse and Vogel Business Media. In 2012, the 3rd BulkSolids India will take place, but with an optimized concept and in early spring. The number of exhibitors at BulkSolids India increased from 39 in 2010 to 62 in 2011. A total of 8 nations presented their latest technologies and products. Besides some 50 Indian exhibitors, 14 companies from Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the U.S. used the international platform to present their products and network. Exhibitors included companies like Allgaier, FLSmidth, Jenike & Johanson, K-Tron, and Rembe. The organizers also noted a considerable rise in the number of people attending BulkSolids India. There were over 930 trade visitors, an increase of almost 20 percent over 2010. The rising demand for new perspectives and ideas on the processing, transport, and storage of bulk solids, granules, and powder is representative of the booming Indian economy. The Indian sub-continent ranks as one of the world's most promising growth markets in the chemical industry. Processes such as conveying, size reduction, milling, screening, and mixing are required for the production process in many industries, e.g. for pharmaceuticals, detergents, body care articles, cosmetics, plant protection agents, fertilizers or pesticides. Meeting the tremendous demand on the Indian market, this year's BulkSolids India was not only one day longer, but also expanded the exhibition topics to the segment of chemical and food processing. Ten companies exhibited in the new POWTECH pavilion at BulkSolids India. POWTECH is the leading European exhibition for mechanical processing technologies and the flagship of the POWDER & BULK NETWORK. Furthermore, it was the first time that exhibitors had the chance to present their products in a separate forum, where trade visitors received detailed information about products for a wide range of applications. 55 papers were presented during the three-day conference, covering the latest applications as well as hands-on solutions for daily operations and scientific research. Among the speakers were international experts such as Dr. R. Pan from Xiamen Longking Bulk Materials Science and Engineering (China), J. Skowaisa from Vega Grieshaber (Germany), and J. Gomez from K-Tron (USA). The conference was chaired by Vijay K. Agarwal of the Indian Institute of Technology in New Delhi. Three workshops led by international industry representatives complemented the exhibition and conference program. The first workshop, "Pneumatic Conveying", was held jointly by Vijay K. Agarwal and pneumatic specialist Dr. David Mills (Great Britain). Stefan Penno, CEO of Rembe and chairman of the Intercontinental Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection (Germany), conducted a workshop on "Fire & Explosion Protection". On the final day of BuldSolids India, Herman Purutyan, CEO of Jenike & Johnson (USA) offered insights into "Silo & Feeder Design For Reliable Flow". The BulkSolids India Award celebrated its debut at this event. The award was conferred for three different categories and presented during the Networking Dinner on the first evening. SWR Engineering Messtechnik received the "Product Innovation Award", while the award in the "Milestone Project" category went to FLSmidth India. Dr. David Mills was honored with the "Significant Research Contribution Award" for his achievements in the field of pneumatic conveying over more than three decades. BulkSolids India will take place again in early spring 2012 with an adapted concept which will exploit the great potential of the Indian market. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Construction News :: home page |
