Bilfinger Berger expands infrastructure for Football Championships

German builder Bilfinger Berger is contributing to the expansion of Poland's infrastructure for the European Football Championships in 2012. The Company is carrying out projects with an investment volume of about €75 million at two locations: in Poland's capital, Bilfinger Berger modernizes the train station at Warsaw Stadium; in Poznań, the Group is heading a consortium that will construct a new 2.5 kilometer long tram line including a 1.1 kilometer long tunnel.

Bilfinger Berger had already won orders for infrastructure projects in Poland with a total investment volume of €380 million in the previous year. These include sections of the motorway rings around Gdańsk and Warsaw, the national motorway 8 and a railway tunnel that connects Warsaw's airport to the city center.

Bilfinger Berger is not only benefiting from investments in connection with the European Football Championships in 2012, but also from long-term subsidies from the European Union for the expansion of Poland's infrastructure.
