| Bilfinger Berger wins major order for North Sea windpark Germany's second-biggest construction company, Bilfinger Berger, has won an order, together with its Danish partner Per Aarsleff, to build the foundations for 80 offshore turbines at the new DanTysk windpark. The clients for construction of the windpark, located 70 kilometers west of the North Sea island of Sylt, are energy group Vattenfall and the city of Munich's public utility company. Volume for the order is in the three-digit million range – exact figures are not being disclosed at the request of the client. Once completed, DanTysk will have a capacity of 288 MW. The project includes design, pre-fabrication and installation of the monopiles, which are up to 65 meters in length. The steel pipes have a diameter of up to six meters and the largest weigh 730 tons. They will be driven into the seabed at water depths of up to 32 meters.
